PigeonPost
PigeonPost is a lightweight Windows tray app that lets your iPhone instantly sync clipboard content and transfer files — directly over your local network, with no cloud service or account required.
Windows 11 · iOS 17+ · No cloud · No account
A focused set of capabilities that work reliably, right on your local network — no internet dependency for core functionality.
Copy text on your iPhone and paste it on Windows — or the reverse. Instant, bidirectional, no intermediary service.
Send photos, videos, PDFs, and any other document straight to your Windows Downloads folder in one tap from your iPhone.
Bonjour/mDNS advertisement means PigeonPostCompanion finds your PC automatically on the local network — no IP address to type.
Optionally protect every API call with a cryptographically random bearer token. Enable, disable, or regenerate it from the Settings dialog.
Works seamlessly over Tailscale, giving you secure access from anywhere without opening firewall ports or configuring a VPN from scratch.
PigeonPostCompanion registers a Share Sheet extension — send files directly from Photos, Files, Safari, or any other iOS app.
PigeonPost lives quietly in the Windows system tray with a colour-coded status icon. Close the window and it keeps running in the background.
The Windows app checks for new releases at startup and every 24 hours. A one-click in-app banner downloads and installs updates instantly.
Full Windows 11 Mica Material theming with Light, Dark, and "Follow Windows" options. The iOS companion respects your device appearance setting.
From download to your first file transfer in under five minutes.
Download the installer from GitHub Releases and run it. The app starts immediately and registers itself in the system tray — no configuration wizard required.
Download PigeonPostCompanion from the App Store onto your iPhone or iPad. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network, or connected via Tailscale.
PigeonPostCompanion discovers your PC automatically via Bonjour. Tap it to connect, then start syncing clipboard content and sending files — instantly.
There are two ways to use PigeonPost on your iPhone or iPad. iOS Shortcuts is free, open-source, and works right now using Apple's built-in Shortcuts app. The native PigeonPostCompanion app adds more convenience — and your purchase directly supports continued development of the free, open-source Windows server.
PigeonPost is designed around a simple principle: what happens between your devices is nobody else's business.
Neither the Windows app nor the iOS companion collects, stores, or transmits any personal data to external servers.
All clipboard and file transfers happen directly between your devices over your local network or Tailscale tunnel — never via a cloud service.
The iOS companion stores your settings (server address, auth preferences) locally on-device. iOS may sync these to your personal iCloud account.
There are no crash reporters, analytics SDKs, or telemetry pipelines in either app. No data about your usage is ever recorded.
